I'm Grace Clark (she/her/hers), a Denver-based

somatic psychotherapist.

I was adopted from South Korea at four months old and raised in Michigan. Growing up in predominantly white spaces, I often felt different, which led to a sense of disconnection and, at times, deep resentment toward my body. I found myself longing for a sense of safety for my mind, body, and soul. Fortunately, music, dance, and theatre became my sanctuary—a space where I could authentically express myself and fully embrace my body.

My journey led me to the University of Denver, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance and immersed myself in the world of opera. Over time, I broadened my musical horizons, exploring classical, bluegrass, and folk genres. I found great fulfillment in expressing myself freely and taking up space on stage in a world that often encouraged me to remain submissive, small, and silent.

When the pandemic hit, I experienced and witnessed the profound struggles many faced, particularly the pervasive sense of feeling unsafe and disconnected from our bodies. It sparked a deep curiosity in me: could we cultivate a sense of regulation and grounding in the midst of a world that felt increasingly angry and unsafe?

This awakening inspired a shift in my focus. Driven by a commitment to addressing shared struggles of disconnection and disembodiment, I earned a Master’s degree in Counseling with a specialization in Somatic Body Psychotherapy from Naropa University. This experience expanded my understanding of how we can cultivate connection within our bodies while fostering a deeper awareness of the inequalities that exist in how bodies are treated. My focus evolved to not only explore how we create safety for our clients but also how we can work toward shifting systems to ensure that all bodies feel not just safe, but empowered.

Outside of therapy, you can find me indulging in my love for Korean comfort food, spending time with my two furry companions, curating community events, and binge-watching The Lord of the Rings.
